Limp Bizkit Biography :
 This Rap-Metal Funk-Metal outfit was founded in the mid-'90s, in Jacksonville, Florida USA, by vocalist Fred Durst and bass player Sam Rivers; the pair hooked-up with guitarist Wes Borland and drummer John Otto.
Limp Bizkit's first break in the music scene was in 1995 when they toured as an opening act for House Of Pain and Deftones; Durst kept in touch with DJ Lethal and the following year when House Of Pain disbanded, the turntablist joined the Bizkits as a permanent member.
They signed with Flip/Interscope Records and in 1997 released their debut album, "Three Dollar Bill Y'All", which eventually reached the #22 position on The Billboard Top 200 chart, the record included their first Modern Rock top 30 hit, "Faith".
Two years later came out their breakthrough disc, "Significant Other", which peaked at #1 on both U.S. Billboard Top 200 and Top Canadian Albums charts and debuted within the top 10 in U.K. and Australia. The album featured the Modern Rock #1 smash "Re-Arranged", "Nookie" which hit #3 on the same chart, "N 2 Gether Now" which reached the #70 on The Billboard Hot 100 and "Break Stuff" which made top 20 on both Active and Modern Rock charts. The four singles helped the album sell over 7 million copies in U.S. alone.
The crew returned to the Modern Rock top 40 in early 2000 with "Crushed", a single lifted off the soundtrack to the movie "End Of Days".
"Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water", quickly bulleted up The Billboard 200 Albums chart peaking at #1 upon its October 2000 release. It contained the transatlantic hit, "Take A Look Around", the theme song for the film "Mission Impossible 2". Consequently the band spearheaded Rap-Metal movement worldwide; their third effort became a #1 hit in several different countries selling over 12 million copies globally. It generated two more Modern Rock top 10 hits including the #3 "My Way" and "Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle)", the latter of which topped the Official U.K. chart. In America the Bizkits scored further strong airplay on alt-Rock radio stations with "My Generation" and "Boiler".
 In October of 2001 Borland left the group due to creative differences; in December was issued the remix-album "New Old Songs"; the set reached #26 on the U.S. Top 200 chart.
Two years later the band announced that new Bizkit's guitarist was Mike Smith and the fourth album, "Results May Vary", was released before the year's end; it climbed to #3 on The Billboard 200, the first single off of the CD, "Eat You Alive", managed to crack the top 20 of The Mainstream and The Modern Rock charts; it was followed by the Active Rock top 40 hit "Almost Over" and the final single, "Behind Blue Eyes" a cover of The Who classic, rose to #11 The Mainstream Rock chart and to #18 on The Modern Rock Tracks.
Prodigal guitarist Wes Borland rejoined the ranks of Limp Bizkit during the summer of 2004 and in early May 2005 arrived the 7-song mini-album titled "The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1)", it failed to make it past #24 on The Billboard 200.
In 2007 Borland launched his new Industrial-Metal project Black Light Burns.
Limp Bizkit have set "Gold Cobra" as the title for their upcoming comeback album. In late 2009 frontman Fred Durst revealed in a Kerrang article and later via Twitter, that the new record would be released in June 2010 by Polydor/Interscope.
